In 2010/11 there were an estimated 878,000 crimes experienced by children aged 10 to 15.
Two-thirds of the crimes against children were violent (576,000), and the rest were thefts of personal property (275,000), while a small number of children experienced vandalism of their personal property (27,000).
Facts and figures can really paint a picture and help to tell the story of what it’s like for children growing up
in our country today. NCB’s Information Centre publishes a digest of current statistics on children and young people three times a year, covering health, education, social care, youth justice, early years and more. The latest issue of Childstats is now available on the members’ page of NCB’s website.
