Parents often say that they are unaware and unsure of the communication milestones, and where to go for further information and support if they feel there is a difficulty with their child's speaking and understanding. This service aims to address these issues, and to give anyone in contact with children more support and information about children's speech and language needs.
The I Can speech and language therapist can offer parents, family members and practitioners information about typical communication development or specific difficulties, and signpost to relevant and useful information, resources and organisations.
As this service does not include meeting and assessing children, we are unable to provide specific advice about a child or the level of provision they should have.
