NCB Now: Celebrate Disability History Month

This month sees the start of the second UK Disability History Month, which runs until 22 December. The Council for Disabled Children is taking the opportunity to highlight duties towards disabled people under the Equality Act.

Most organisations are aware of their duties under the Disability Discrimination Act, but many are uncertain about what the Equality Act now requires. By 6 April 2012 public bodies are required to publish information and equality objectives to support them in meeting the Public Sector Equality Duty. CDC is publishing booklets to spread understanding and to celebrate Disability History Month.
