Youth Work: Youth room opens in Blackpool

A 10,000 youth room has opened in Blackpool to give young people somewhere to go.

The space, based at Beacon Hill High School Business and Enterprise College, was previously a caretaker's storage room. The room's transformation came about after young people asked Blackpool's youth opportunity fund panel for money to create a modern facility for pupils. The panel gave the pupils £10,000 and work began on converting the space. The room has disabled access and facilities, along with its own toilet, small kitchen and internet access.
