The units support and develop youth services across the nine English regions. The national network will help them share good practice, give a national voice to regional youth work issues and find opportunities for units to obtain funding.
Elizabeth Harding, head of the North West unit, said: "Having worked together informally over the past two years, we feel the network offers a great opportunity to us, youth providers and young people to raise the profile of youth work."
The network will work with national bodies such as The National Youth Agency and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
The East Midlands is the only regional unit not to have joined the network. Leon Mexter, head of the North East unit, said this was because it was going through structural changes but was optimistic it would join in the future.
