Youth theatre: Government funds theatre framework

The project follows a 69 per cent increase in Department for Education and Skills funding for the association.

The 330,000 of Government cash, which covers the next three years, will be used for the creation of a National Quality Framework for youth theatre and to raise the profile of young people who attend youth theatres.

The association is also looking to commission three research projects in conjunction with The National Youth Agency.

The first study will map youth theatres in England while the second will look at attracting under-represented groups.

The final research project will link together the first two studies to draw up the framework, which may also include the development of accreditation.
