Youth Services: Exeter introduces integrated services

1 min read

Exeter Youth Enquiry Service is a converted warehouse that now acts as an office for 30 staff from voluntary and statutory organisations. It forms part of Devon's children's trust pilot, which is working to integrate services for young people.

The facility will be open during the day and evenings to provide a single referral service on a drop-in or appointment basis to young people above the age of 13. There will also be a sexual health clinic on Saturdays.

Devon Youth Association brought together Devon County Council, Exeter Drugs Project and In Touch Counselling to create the initiative.

The association's chief executive, Tim Tod, said: "It does not have to be a 'them and us' culture between sectors: we all have similar objectives."
