Ninety-two per cent of respondents called for more services. The report also discovered that one in four disadvantaged young people would not be likely to turn to specialist organisations for help, including youth projects, because there is a lack of understanding about or trust in those organisations. But they were still more likely to turn to specialists for help than their peers.
Services concerning substance misuse were singled out as being particularly unsatisfactory, and nearly half of young people said that there was not enough to do locally.
Rob Cope, co-author of the Reaching The Hardest To Reach report, said the statistics were "quite alarming".
