The Youth Matters: Next Steps document, subtitled "Something to do, somewhere to go, someone to talk to", sets out how government thinking has been influenced by the responses to the consultation in four key areas: things to do and places to go; volunteering; information, advice and guidance; and targeted support.
The Department for Education and Skills wants to see the proposals fully implemented by April 2008. Beverley Hughes, the minister for children and young people, told Young People Now the resources to achieve this will be in place, despite a recent spate of stories about local authority services being forced to make cuts.
