"Speaking another language is important in breaking down cultural barriers and achieving greater co-existence," says Gladicheva, whose family is originally from Bulgaria.
What makes a black person black? It's one of the topics being mooted in UK Youth Parliament's Debatable magazine by a young black person who has sometimes been described as "not black enough". He feels part of the problem lies with gang culture, and the lack of black role models. "All youths see is an image of rap stars and weed smokers. We need more black role models from professions and politics."
