Children's Society chief executive Bob Reitemeier and Julie Hollyman, chair of the Hyde Group housing association, have been appointed to the board of the Youth Justice Board.
Hollyman has experience of mental health and health-care issues, and is a trustee of the Refugee Council. Reitemeier has a long history of work in the voluntary sector. He said he supports the concept of the YJB, and wants to prove its worth.
Hollyman and Reitemeier will take positions on the board, for initial three-year terms, in September. Chris Holmes, a former director of Shelter, has been reappointed for a second term.
