Mission: To build young offenders' confidence and self-esteem

Funding: 3,500 (2,000 from South Essex Homes and 1,500 from The Prince's Trust)

A group of four young offenders on Southend and Thurrock's intensive supervision and surveillance programme (ISSP) have scooped bronze for their entry into the Hampton Court Flower Show "Inspiring Spaces" category.

The award was the culmination of months of preparation, which involved the young people preparing a design for a garden, which was submitted to the organisers of the Hampton Court Flower Show to be considered for inclusion.

The four young people involved in the creation of the garden were aged 12 to 18.
