A monitor will be appointed in each region of England along with onecovering all of Wales. They will examine the work of local youthoffending teams within their region to ensure that crime prevention workis of a high quality.
The decision follows last year's decision by the Home Office to giveyouth offending teams an extra 45m over three years to supportyouth crime prevention work.
