The Groundwork Erewash Valley Trust ran weekly sessions with 10 young men as part of its Rights and Responsibilities programme. All the teenagers were either known to the police or were persistent truants from school.
The group took part in teambuilding activities, which included spending time in the cells and an appearance at a magistrates' court.
The scheme began in September and received 18,000 from the J Weston Trust and the Amber Valley Borough Council. The project was run in conjunction with the Derbyshire Constabulary, Belper School and Connexions Derbyshire.
Sam Maw, education co-ordinator at the trust, said she hoped the scheme would con-tinue because of the support it had received. The young men, who finished the project this month, will have their progress monitored for three years.
