In a letter to Tim Loughton, Sue Payne, chair of the Confederation of Heads of Young People's Services, praised his commitment to young people and voiced support for the National Citizen Service scheme. But she questioned his comment in a CYP Now interview that council-run youth services "leave a lot to be desired".
Payne has asked Loughton to back this up, saying: "Recent Ofsted inspections have shown very positive results."
