YOUNG OFFENDERS: Probation service defends YOT policy

However, a probation service spokesperson said: "In the current year, in cash, staff and in-kind resources, it is contributing 20m in aggregate to YOTs."

The spokesperson added: "The NPS does not accept the number of 16- and 17-year-olds on YOT caseloads as a sensible way of assessing contributions."
