Family Service Units (FSU) has decided to close after failing to cover its overheads.
The Family Welfare Association (FWA) charity will take over projects run by FSU in England - including young carers' projects in Rochdale, Camden and Islington. Philippa Gitlin, FSU's chief executive, said: "All the staff who run these services will transfer to FWA."
FSU employs nearly 400 people in England and Scotland. The majority of these will transfer to FWA, and a separate charity will be set up to carry on FSU's work in Scotland. But about 35 head office staff will lose their jobs.
FSU was set up in 1948 to work with hard-to-reach young people and families.
