Yoga buggies London council pays for lessons for children

Children in Whitechapel, east London, take part in a free yoga class provided by the local council. The Yoga Bugs lessons are paid for by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and are open to under-fives. Labour councillor Lutfur Rahman, the borough's lead member for culture, said: "Children are never too young to get active and Yoga Bugs is the perfect way to get started." Children taking part learn exercises through stories and rhymes. Instructor Rachel Steggall said: "Yoga for children benefits those who have breathing, muscle or co-ordination problems just as much as it helps to develop creativity and self confidence."
