1 min read
What do you do? I set up clubs and activities out of school hours for rurally isolated children aged eight to 13 years old. I do this by working with primary schools, and I will be setting up their extended services agenda.

What was the highlight of the past week? I applied for some funding fromthe Melton Times and Ragdale Hall to set up sports activities in thevillage of Ab Kettleby. We have been shortlisted and a photographer wassent out last week.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Setting up clubs thatchildren who have nothing to do in their villages can attend andproviding them with fun things to do with their friends.

What is the hardest aspect of your job? Trying to do too much becauseit's such a big area and there are a lot of villages. Time management isreally important.

What is the toughest decision you have had to take during your career?Leaving my work as a full-time teacher. I was frustrated with the lackof creativity at the time, but it meant leaving a nine-to-five contract. All the things I do now are short-term contracts.
