- Q: I work in a great youth group that has lots of people who willingly help out. But despite our enthusiastic management committee, no-one seems to know who is doing what and things don't get done.
- A: It's a tricky one if you have people who are happy to help but don't respond well to being given specific tasks.
If they are keen for the group to succeed, they will appreciate the need for planning. Try focusing on an upcoming event involving everyone. People like to know you've identified things that they do well. So, give the role of co-ordinating a meeting and getting people together to someone you know people respond well to. Or ask someone with great organisational skills to get notes ready and prepare a fundraising plan.
