Workforce: Multi-agency work must be promoted

The Government needs to do more to promote the benefits of information sharing, according to a soon-to-be-published review of multi-agency working.

The Department for Education and Skills-commissioned study by theChildren's Workforce Development Council examined how local authoritiesacross England were coping with the move to multi-agency working.

Liz Morrey, head of the workforce development division at the Departmentfor Education and Skills, told a Children Now conference on multi-agencyworking last week the study found many children's workers are cautiousabout information sharing.

She added: "The local authorities that leap out in progress oninformation sharing are those where there is commitment from the top."
