Workforce development: Local strategy fund will not be available to statutory bodies

1 min read

The 3.3m Local Children's Workforce Strategy Fund will be sent to children's services directors in allocations of 20,000 and 30,000 for unitary and two-tier authorities respectively. But it can only be used in private, voluntary or independent settings.

Jane Haywood, chief executive of the Children's Workforce Development Council, said: "Feedback has identified that the involvement of the private, voluntary and independent sectors is a key issue for local children's trust areas in developing their strategies. This funding will support the involvement of these sectors and help employers develop staff skills."

The fund aims to equip organisations to get involved in local workforce strategies.
