The Care Co-ordination Network UK has elected John Ford MBE as its new chair. Ford has retired from his role at the Department for Children, Families and Schools as national director of the Early Support Programme.

Lisa Hutchinson has been seconded to the post of project co-ordinator for e2e Engagement at South Central Connexions. The project is being funded by the Learning and Skills Council and will help unemployed young people.

The government's Teenage Pregnancy Independent Advisory Group has appointed five new members to aid in the development of the nationwide teenage pregnancy strategy. They are:

Nicola Baboneau, head of community and partnerships at the community education charity the Learning Trust. Baboneau was a head teacher for 10 years and has also been the chair of Hackney and the City's Teenage Pregnancy Partnership since 2001. Annie Hargreaves, adviser for personal, social, health and citizenship education and strategic lead for anti-bullying at the London Borough of Hounslow. Hargreaves has more than 20 years' experience of teaching and won the Pamela Sheridan award for sex and relationships education in 1997. Simon Blake, chief executive of sexual health charity Brook. Blake is a member of the Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health and HIV and was previously director of the Sex Education Forum. Dr Jon Tilbury, general practitioner and deputy director for the primary care directorate for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust. Tilbury is chairing a review of services and was awarded a Health Action Zone fellowship in 2000. Carol White, director of children's services for Calderdale. White has held several senior education posts. She was group director for school and children's services and deputy chief executive at Calderdale council.
