Researchers asked young people to choose which services or ideas they were most interested in from a list of proposals. While the majority of respondents wanted more discos for under-18s, there was little support for raising the school-leaving age from 16 to 18, or for the provision of single-sex leisure activities.
Margo Morris, youth services manager at Edinburgh Council, said: "These findings will be used to take forward an action plan for young people in Edinburgh based around themes including learning and citizenship, work and money, transport and mobility, leisure and local neighbourhoods." More than one in four 11- to 21-year-olds in the city were interviewed for the study.
