Safeguarding Children Who May Have Been Trafficked

This draft guidance from the Welsh Assembly Government is aimed at any professionals who may come into contact with children who have been trafficked.

As more cases of child trafficking come to light, with some cases involving UK-born children being trafficked within the UK, the Government wants to make sure all professionals who come into contact with children who may have been trafficked are aware of the issues and know what safeguarding procedures to follow.

Key issues addressed in the consultation include whether there is adequate detail in the document to show practitioners how and why they need to be alert to the possibility of trafficking, and whether other agencies or groups should be included.
