Wales: Wales Youth Agency to have say in replacement

From next month a series of "informal" meetings will be held between the agency and government officials, as well as other youth organisations, to develop the youth work support branch of the assembly government. These meetings are set to run until July.

Last week, officials confirmed that funding for the agency will stop at the end of this year, and a branch of the assembly government called Cywaith will be set up to support its Extending Entitlement agenda for young people.

In a statement, Howard Williamson, acting chair of the Wales Youth Agency management board, said: "I hope the new arrangements will strengthen the commitment to fulfil the vision and philosophy of Extending Entitlement."
