Wales: Tributes pour in for Peter Clarke

Tributes have been paid to the children's commissioner for Wales, Peter Clarke, who has died after a long battle with cancer.

Wales's First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, said Clarke, 58, had "blazed atrail for others to follow" since taking the post in 2001. "He made anenormous contribution to the lives of children and young people," headded.

Paul Ennals, chief executive of NCB, said: "Peter's death is a tragicloss to the children's world. He pioneered the development of thecommissioner's role and had (an) impact way beyond the borders ofWales."
