Wales: Prince's Trust starts outreach scheme

1 min read

The project is one of a series of events aimed at 14- to 25-year-olds during July and August. It is hoped that more than 700 young people will take part.

Eleven community outreach workers helped youth workers to develop their project ideas and apply for funding from Enfys, the New Opportunities Fund's Green Spaces programme.

The HOVER project, in Torfaen, will train 16- to 25-year-olds in motor mechanics so they can build a hovercraft designed to collect rubbish in water.

Workers at the Cwmbran Centre for Young People and the youth offending team put forward 10 young people who had offended, or were at risk of offending, to take part in the scheme.
