OFSTED published National Voluntary Youth Organisations Grants 1999-2002 on 17 February. This examines the NVYO scheme that ran from April 1999 to March 2002. It received 12m from the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) to tackle social exclusion.
Issues singled out include a recommendation that the DfES should broaden the range of organisations that have access to grant aid. According to the report, the DfES should provide more networking opportunities for NVYOs.
Weston Spirit, Centrepoint and the National Youth Music Theatre were among the NVYOs featured in the report.
