I was selected as one of Bank of America's student leaders last year, for recognition of my service to the community through volunteering for various local initiatives.

As a result I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a week-long Bank of America Student Leadership Summit in Washington DC, which was one of the best experiences of my life.

As well as the trip to the US, I was also given the opportunity to participate in an eight-week local internship at Business in the Community (BITC). I was given the chance to work on a number of BITC programmes in the London regional team.

It is an understatement to say that the whole experience has been fantastic. It really was the opportunity of a lifetime and has given me a whole new perspective on life.
