A booklet summarising the organisation's 10 safeguarding standards hasbeen published to encourage churches to "aim higher" in terms of childprotection.
David Pearson, executive director of CCPAS, said recent high-profilecases meant the organisation's guidance has become more detailed. Hesaid the simplification in the Key Facts booklet would help churchworkers deal with allegations of suspicions of abuse.
"We would urge churches not to be downhearted in light of all thiscomplexity. What is important is that everyone involved aims as high asthey possibly can in order to ensure the children in their care are assafe as possible," he added.
