On a Friday afternoon, 10 days after the 11 September attacks, apedestrian on Tower Bridge reported a strange orange object floating inthe Thames. Later that day, further upstream, police divers recoveredthe headless torso of a young Black boy. A pair of orange shorts coveredthe stumps of his legs.
Unable to make a positive identification, the police named him Adam.
The investigation is still ongoing, but detectives are convinced Adam,who was from Nigeria and around five years old, was the victim of aritual sacrifice. In December 2006 he was laid to rest at a Londoncemetery.
Since January 2000, there have been 38 documented cases - involving 47children - of child abuse associated with spirit possession inEngland.
