The South and West Yorkshire Resettlement Consortium was established in 2014 and has strong support from a wide range of stakeholders, all of whom work together to improve outcomes for children who have been sentenced or remanded to custody.
The consortium has limited resources – a part-time manager jointly funded by the nine youth justice services (YJS) in south and west Yorkshire – but concentrates its energies on communication, innovation and engagement.
The consortium operates within a strategic management group and has regular operational group meetings to ensure that while strategic agendas are influenced the practical delivery and experiences of children and workers are reflected in decision making at all levels.
