Training to support ethnic adoptions

Social Care
The Post-Adoption Centre has launched a training pack for professionals to help prepare and support families caring for black and ethnic minority children.

Included is a range of practical parenting strategies to promote secure attachment and positive racial identity.

With 25 separate booklets and a CD-Rom, the Supporting Black and Minority Ethnic Adopted Children pack includes all the materials needed to run professional workshops for parents and peers.

Sue Noonan, director of the Post-Adoption Centre, said there was "very little help elsewhere". She added the resource would help prevent children returning to the care system. To place an order call 020 7284 0555.
