Training: Course covers latest government policy

1 min read
Managers of voluntary youth organisations will be able to attend free courses that explain government policy on young people from January.

Training company FPM has produced a course for the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) covering the creation of children's trusts, the Every Child Matters green paper and the implementation of the Children Act 2004.

The course, which is called Lead up: Leading and Managing Voluntary Youth Organisations, is aimed at managers in organisations with a regional or national coverage. It is not for frontline managers, chief executives or anyone who has already been on the Transforming Youth Work Management programme.

The course consists of two separate two-day modules that are delivered up to five weeks apart. It is open to managers from voluntary youth organisations that receive funding from the DfES.

Matthew Wilt, marketing executive at FPM, said: "The course is about working in partnership with the Government to deliver government policy."
