Take Off festival will take place in Darlington from this week. Theatre groups from all over Europe will entertain professionals and children.
Frances Osbourne, a childcare consultant planning to attend, said: "The arts can really enrich early years development but they often don't get much of a look in. Events like this can give early years professionals some good ideas.
"For instance, through shows about issues like bereavement and loss, theatre can get feelings across in a way that children can relate to."
