Youthinformation.com was launched in January 1997 as a disk-based information system based on a series of headings recognised in youth work in England and Wales (the NYAFAIS system which was first used in Information Shops for Young People). It later developed into a free web-based resource and has grown over the years and now receives more than 70,000 unique visitors every month. It includes more than 1,200 information topics and holds contact details on about 1,400 national organisations as well as hundreds of links. According to research, half of its regular visitors are young people and the site is also regularly used by those working with them, including youth workers, teachers, Connexions PAs and parents.
