The National Youth Agency: Youthinformation.com looksat ... Becoming a blood donor.

Being a blood donor means that you provide blood for hospitals to use in emergencies and routine operations. All types of blood are needed, especially if you have a rare blood type. Becoming a blood donor is simple, but you must be over 17 years of age. Call the enrolment line on 0845 7711 711 for more information. Alternatively, visit Billy Blood Drop's pages on the National Blood Foundation web site at www.blood.co.uk.
