As part of the campaign, Guide Dogs is launching an A-Z Guide to Street Obstacles for blind and partially sighted people. The guide offers practical suggestions for an obstacle-free alternative, including cutting back overhanging hedges and avoiding blocking walkways by cars. The guide also asks cyclists to use bicycle paths where available and for us to consider the implications of dropping litter - broken glass causes a hazard to guide dogs' paws and chewing gum gets stuck to hair and paws.
