THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Youthinformation.com looks at ... FosterCare

1 min read

Foster care may be arranged for a young person as part of provision of accommodation by social services.

Foster carers usually work closely with social services to provide a caring environment for the young people they are looking after. While the child is in foster care, their birth parents are still responsible for them and they may stay in touch with them either directly or through the foster carer and social worker. Foster carers don't usually adopt the children in their care, though it is possible.
