There are lots of practical things you can do to get fit:

- Join a gym. Fitness First offer a discount for Euro[S20]26 cardholders.

There may be a club in your area.

- Choose a sport you'd like to do,and make enquiries with your local sports centre to see if there is a club you can join.

- If you would rather exercise alone or with a friend, try cycling, walking or running.

- Find out from the local council if they operate a leisure pass scheme, offering reduced price entry to swimming pools, tennis courts etc.

- And finally, don't forget dancing. A night on the dance floor can use up as much energy as a full session of aerobics.
