In London, the Mayor's office is hosting a London Youth Offer conference on Monday 3 November in partnership with the London Development Agency. One of the main aims will be to identify interventions and projects which are improving outcomes for young people.
Halton Youth Service has announced plans for the week, having built on the challenge of Takeover Day and created Takeover Week. Young people will take over the running of all youth service centres and projects during the week, and will also launch a borough-wide Positive Images campaign to challenge negative stereotypes of young people. A further initiative will showcase the achievements of three youth-led grassroots youth organisations to show how young people can be empowered to lead their own services. A 37-page information pack on Youth Work Week can be downloaded from www.nya.org.uk.
