Local authorities have until 12 November to return a questionnaire to The NYA, assessing how they are progressing against the four key targets outlined in Margaret Hodge's letter to local authorities last December.
In this she asked youth services to measure their performance in reach into the 13 to 19 population; level of participation in youth work of the 13 to 19 population; the proportion of participants in youth work who gain recorded outcomes; and the proportion of young people who gain accredited outcomes.
Jon Boagey, head of information services, said: "Obtaining this information is important to the DfES to enable the department to gauge progress and to help the Youth Service Unit inform the development of policy for the green paper Every Child Matters and the new youth offer."
