The final leg of my journey was the Conservative Party conference in a sunny Blackpool.
On arrival, I immediately felt out of place, being the only one in the entire conference not dressed in a suit. However, people did treat me with respect and most people didn't really mind that I was dressed like a normal teenager - in hoodie and jeans.
As for the venue, they had decided to split the conference in two with one half being at one end of Blackpool and the other at the other side.
One thing that was very different from the Labour and Liberal Democrats was the Conservative party's approach to a discussion. Unlike the other two meetings, they already seemed to know what needed to be done and our input was only really to analyse that. Although the discussion was quite thorough, it did seem fairly fruitless as it was only their proposals that were put forward of a five-week volunteering programme which is expected to change a naughty hoodie into a "huggable" one.
The opportunity of visiting these party conferences was a unique experience and I feel I gained a lot of insight into the way things work. Each party made the youth issue an important item on their list, seeking our counsel on the way forward.
There were clear differences in what each party put forward and the slander of one another was particularly amusing, but as a young person I feel optimistic that an improvement will follow for many of the young people across the country.
