THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Youth hearing to examine communitycohesion

1 min read

The aim of the day is for young people to talk directly to politicians and policy-makers about their local projects. They will speak of their successes in:

- crossing barriers of culture, faith and age; - democracy and involving young people in local government; and - being and belonging - valuing difference and welcoming the stranger.

After each of these themes, the young people will take questions from the MPs, including Jack Straw, MP for Blackburn, who will hear how his local Queens Park and Audley Youth Information Project is quickly gaining the respect of the wider community, bringing white and Asian young people together, offering advice, information and training.
