Young Roots - Different roots, one community Lead Agency: Handsworth and Lozells Methodist Youth Work Partners: Abeng Training, Sister Tree.
THE PROJECT
Young people are interviewing community elders to explore issues of community identity. There are also workshops looking at migration routes of grandparents, dance from different cultures and historical contributions made by Black and Asian people to the City of Birmingham. Young people will attend community festivals in London and the North and explore the history of the slave trade at a Liverpool museum.
