The National Youth Agency: Young Roots

Each week we feature one of the projects run in partnership with an NYA-managed funding stream - Young People's Development Programme, Young Roots, Partners in Innovation or the Neighbourhood Support Fund.

Young Roots - Different roots, one community Lead Agency: Handsworth and Lozells Methodist Youth Work Partners: Abeng Training, Sister Tree.

THE PROJECT

Young people are interviewing community elders to explore issues of community identity. There are also workshops looking at migration routes of grandparents, dance from different cultures and historical contributions made by Black and Asian people to the City of Birmingham.
