Given the perceived pace of change in rural areas it was anticipated that a considerable period of time would elapse before it became necessary to revisit the work and describe and analyse developments. But, over those 10 years, remarkable changes have taken place in the range, variety and creativity of ways to work with young people, as well as in the economic and social fabric of the countryside.

Now, a new publication from The NYA revisits the issues and charts and analyses these changes. Taking the title, in homage to the original, of Who says nothing ever happens around here?, it finds growing evidence that the interests of young people in rural areas may at last be receiving public attention.
