The National Youth Agency: The NYA responds to report on 14 to 19Curriculum and Qualifications Reform

The NYA agrees with the principles of the proposals and supports the development of a unified framework of learning programmes and diplomas covering all 14- to 19-year-old learners in England. It also welcomes the stated principles of "inclusiveness, challenge, quality and choice", and believes the proposals could make a real difference to those young people that currently underachieve in the formal education system and/or have opted out or become marginalised from learning.

In its consultation with 70 young people, The NYA found support for the idea of not linking programmes and diplomas with specific age ranges.

"It's good that you can return to study where you left off - if you leave, for example, because you are pregnant," one young person said.
