The report offers an overview and detailed breakdown of the work carried out by The NYA in the past financial year. This year it emphasises The NYA's focus on organisational efficiency, celebrates the many successful initiatives it has been involved in, and stresses the growing importance of working successfully in partnership.
In their joint introduction, NYA chief executive Tom Wylie and chairman Bishop Roger Sainsbury write: "As the Government's policy paper Youth Matters recognises, these are not easy times in which to grow up. Some approaches to the young do not work: too many are demonised. We have tried to improve the quality of youth work at all levels so it makes a fuller contribution to successful outcomes. (The NYA) has sought to strengthen the voice and influence of young people in the design, delivery and scrutiny of the services for them."
