Respondents were involved with youth work on many different levels, from part- time youth workers and volunteers to senior youth workers, principal youth officers and training managers.
All were clear that there is a global dimension to the lives of young people and that youth work has an important role to play in developing young people's understanding of the world in which they live. A youth service manager explains: "Every young person should be provided with educational opportunities so that they can understand the global considerations that will shape their lives. The key is in establishing an understanding of our interdependence and the relevance of global issues on young peoples' everyday lives."
